For some households, finding the best dog toys is not just a fun thing to do. For puppies specifically, safe dog toys will keep your new family member from chewing your furniture. Wooden bar chairs and step stools don’t stand a chance against larger breeds like Labrador Retrievers.
And even smaller breeds like Tibetan Terriers can knock down lightweight garbage cans and wreak havoc. Even if your family plans to keep your pup in a crate, (s)he will still need something to be entertained by.
Otherwise, expect to have crabby neighbors ringing your doorbell because of your loud dog barking all day. In the 30 suggestions below, these top dog toys will ideally keep you and your four-legged friends happy.

Bottom Line
If you’ve read all 30 of these dog toy suggestions and are still on the fence about which one your dog will like, try a few. Every dog is different. Some are better for small, medium, or large dogs.
If the manufacturer specifies certain sizes for certain dogs, make sure to take their word for it. If the dog toy is supposed to be universal, consider how your dog has treated other toys. If you have an aggressive chewer, plush toys probably won’t work out.
If you have a senior dog who is not a big fan of hard plastic or other thicker material, avoid any toy that may cause friction on your floor. The goal is to keep your dog entertained if/when you cannot play with her.
And should you want to play along, make sure the dog toy is something you and your small children can play with, too. For those looking for more specific toy product reviews check out the following:
